Can Virtual Dating Boost Self-Confidence?

Research findings from Stanford University’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab (VHIL) suggest that virtual experiences can have an effect on people’s behavior in the real world. Researchers observed that even a couple of minutes of avatar-based chatting can elicit behavioral changes offline. For example, positive virtual experiences can boost self-confidence.

Although these studies did not specifically examine how virtual dating impacts dating behavior in real-life, the findings seem to suggest that successful virtual dating can positively impact one’s confidence in real life and, in turn, improve relationship success. Afterall, self-confidence is one of the most attractive qualities in both men and women.

If OmniDate were to conduct a study with respect to online dating, would you participate?
