My prediction: Dating sites without a virtual dating component will not survive
According to a recent survey conducted by Harris Interactive, adults worldwide go online for several reasons: 23 percent of respondents say they go online for dating, 50 percent use social networking sites and 72 percent play games. So, what do you get when you combine all three? An awesome virtual dating application!
As the online dating industry continues to evolve, it will need to incorporate elements of games, specifically virtual environments. Just look at PKR Poker, which has become a 3D avatar-drive environment. We will see more of that soon.
I bet in a couple of years from now, dating sites without a virtual dating component will be considered lame and will experience a major decline.
