Only Love Is Real

Toronto, Canada --- Looking for love? Snuggle up to your computer on Friday night. Your virtual date on OmniDate can lead to the real thing. A Harvard study demonstrates that virtual dates translate into better dates. According to the research, simulating dates in real time enhances four major relationship categories: liking, similarity, excitement, and comfort. "Virtual dating is a very real way to date that gives you a jump start towards a great relationship," said Igor Kotlyar, Ph.D., founder and CEO of OmniDate.com.

The goal of OmniDate is to use virtual reality to impact real life. A behavioral psychologist, Kotlyar and his wife, Ravit Abelman, invented the site to spread relationship happiness in the beating heart.

"There is no greater joy than bringing people together. All my life, I have matched up friends, now I get to do it for thousands of people. I love coming to work!" said Abelman.

The Harvard study proves the OmniDate approach. Virtual dates in real time scored higher than looking at profiles.

"People were more positive about individuals with whom they had virtual dated than those whose profiles they had seen, effects that carried forward through an initial face-to-face meeting…." said the study.

Using avatars to represent themselves, daters can invite a partner to a café, resort, restaurant or club. In the background, fish swim in a tank, dancers move across the dance floor and the couples can laugh, wink and even touch in the virtual world.

Flirting gets a booster with a game playing in the background. A series of questions batted back and forth allow the couple to get to know each other better. At the end, a compatibility score can tell a couple how similar they are. The ultimate goal is to bring people together.

"In the end, only love is real," said Abelman.
